Costume and Props

Costumes and Props

Flowers: A bunch of peach roses where the camera focuses on them and slowly moves out showing some of the male protagonist but not his face as we want to keep this from the audience until the very end of the opening scene.

Mobile Phone: This will be the main feature of the film because it will make the film become more realistic to the audience. The phone will be the most used prop as this is the communication which we use in modern society. Communication is a much wider range because with apps such as Facebook and Twitter it allows you to talk to almost everyone from around the world. The phone will be used for when the female protagonist is texting on it. The texts will be the main edit of this opening because they will appear out of the phone so the audience knows what the female is texting and what the relation between them.

Christmas Lights: These will be the main source of lighting in our opening and will also help create the atmosphere of the scene to indicate the genre of a romance film. The lights will also make the opening feel more magical and special, linking back to the audience to make them feel involved. The lights will be from London's Winter Wonderland as this is a well known setting and will also make the audience more engaged as they may have been there before and can relate to it.

Casual Wear: All characters in the opening will be dressed casual as it is a friendship group going out for a day. This will relate to the audience because they will be dressed casual everyday. This will also mean the characters should be in winter clothing such as coats, scarfs and hats. This will also help the setting and the atmosphere have more of a Christmas feel.

Make Up: The make up will be kept simple but also feminine. The eyes will have liner on them and dark red lips or a nude lip. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CD_J210rGog This is a clip of what we are planning to do for the protagonist and antagonist. There will be a different in lip colour to show the difference between the two. This is a very casual look for the characters to wear because it shows the feminine side but if the antagonist wears a red lipstick, it will show she has a darker side.
