We have looked at different soundtracks which could possibly be played in the background of our opening 2 minutes. We researched different types of music which could compliment the voice over as the opening is being shown. We had to look into non- copy righted music, for our opening. When choosing possible soundtracks we had different filters that we could choose from, which could make up our soundtrack. There was a variety of choices of mood and genre, and option of different tempos. For our own opening scene we need at least a soundtracks for our opening, as we will be need it for the journey of the protagonist going to school, and one to be playing over the background for most of the opening before starting the dialogue. When looking into different soundtracks, we decide to stick with the theme of acoustic, but add other elements which would suit our genre of film, of being a romantic film. From previous analysis we have looked into different soundtracks for the romance genre. From majority, we found out that a lot of recent romance film would usually have a calm, guitar(acoustic) tone to the sound track which compliments the either the protagonist or the location of the opening scene. The soundtrack is important within a romance film because it allows to set the atmosphere of the scene and its gives the audience and obvious indication that it is a romance film.



When using this website, the website gave us a different option , which we could choose from,which would create or pick as suitable sound based on our choices of mood and genre and the tempo of the music. The genre we specially looked into was acoustic because we want to stay with the codes and convention of a romance film, and to make sure the audience identify that our film genre through the soundtrack, as this is an important feature as it will be one of the features to recognize the genre of the film.


When choosing our soundtrack we decided to use options for genre as acoustic, to give the setting a calming atmosphere to start off with. The moods that we have chosen for our soundtrack were calming, relaxed, uplifting. We have used chosen these because we wanted the soundtrack to reflect calming atmosphere, but have and fresh look as this will relate to the protagonist first day in school/college. we
then chose the tempo that we wanted to associate with our soundtrack, and chose the meduim tempo for the sound track, because we wanted a sound track which would suit the traveling of the protagonist, so it will go with the traveling of the protagonist, which will them compliment the voice over.

After choosing our options for our possible soundtrack, the website gave us some selected soundtracks which fitted towards what we are expecting in our soundtrack, from the options that we had chosen from. The first soundtrack which we were given was called landras dream. this could be a good soundtrack to use, because it would allow the audience to show mood of the protagonist first day at college, so it does compliment the traveling or journey to college. However this could be a bit more up beat, and may not reflect the female protagonist emotions.


2. Second nature

This is another soundtrack that we have chosen , which could be possible soundtrack that we could use, which will be played over the top of the opening whilst it is playing. This would be a good soundtrack to use because as the mood and atmosphere of the soundtrack would suit the personality of the female protagonist, making her journey to school, the soundtrack also reflects the protagonist attitude towards her first day, and this will show a clear indication to the audience of the protagonists thoughts, which will compliment the voice over.


3. Redwood trail

This is another soundtrack that we were given after choosing what aspects we wanted with our soundtrack. This could be a good soundtrack to use, because its calming and i would think it would work well with the journey scene to school,the soundtrack also has a slight turn,which could also be used when the two protagonists meet. however this soundtrack doesn't reflect the mood or attitude of the female protagonist.
